Das Ziel der Lehrveranstaltung ist es den Teilnehmenden anhand der Fallstudie Apostelkirche zentrale Protagonist*innen, Monumente und Objekte der byzantinischen Geschichte, Kunst und Architektur nahe zu bringen. Dabei sollen die Grundlagen wissenschaftlichen Arbeitens, die genaue Betrachtung sowie Analyse von Objekten und Monumenten, die kritische Auseinandersetzung mit der Primär- und Sekundärliteratur und das Verfassen wissenschaftlicher Texte geübt werden.Methoden:
Formale Beschreibung, Analyse und Interpretation von Monumenten und Objekten, gemeinsame Textlektüre, Referatsbeiträge. Die Teilnehmenden werden auch Kurzaufgaben in Form von Kurzessays vorbereiten, an Gruppendiskussionen teilnehmen und neben dem Referat auch eine schriftliche Arbeit beitragen.
