Aims, contents and method of the course
The course characterizes in form of an outline the most important trends and their representative artists in the time of Emperor Francis Joseph I. (which ist mostly identical with the so-called Ringstrasse-era) covering the development from Romantic to late Historicism. Emphasis will be laid especially on pre-modern aspects respectively on those preparing the further development of the 20th century.A tutorial and discussions will be accompany the lectures.
