Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The lecture aims to give a concise overview of the political history of the graeco-Roman world focussing on the epochs that seem to have had the greatest impact on the later developements of the world'S history (Classical Greece, Roman Republic - early princi-pate. The basic dates of Events and main protagonists will be given, but a special focus lies on the developement of social and political structures.
frontal-presentation lecture, supported bei Handouts. Questions and remarks are wel-come, but if they need longer time to answer the answer will be given after the lecture.

Assessment and permitted materials

There will be a final examination (orally, in all probability) at the end of the term and af-terwards.

. During the examination there will be asked questions concerning the topics presented in the lecture and by way of handouts and/or written memos sent by e-mail.
