Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The lecture aims to complement the Grundkurs I by giving short introductions into the source-material, the main problems of ancient historical research and the modern literature on these topics. It is intended to give the attendants a basic knowledge of the most imporant categories of sources and of the most helpful modern handbooks.
Special focus will lie on the methods of citation

Assessment and permitted materials

The presentation of the material will be accompanied by discussions. Questions and oral contributions by all attendants are not only welcome, but required.
There will be a final examination (orally, in all probability) at the end of the term and afterwards

Examination topics

During the examination there will be asked questions concerning the topics presented and discussed during the lecture and the contents of some handouts and/or written memos sent by e-mail
