Aims, contents and method of the course

Inhalt: Einführung in die byzantinische Kultur und Geschichte verbunden mit einem Überblick über die Wissenschaftsgeschichte der Byzantinistik und ihrer Unter- und Nachbardisziplinen.

Ziele, Methode: Erwerb der Grundkenntnisse des Faches Byzantinistik und dessen Forschungsgeschichte. Vorlesungen mit studentischer Beteiligung in der Form von Diskussionen und eigenständiger Arbeit an Quellen.

Assessment and permitted materials

Schriftliche Prüfung (100%). Die Hinzuziehung von Hilfsmitteln jeder Art ist während der Prüfung nicht erlaubt.

Grundkenntnisse des Kursinhalts.
