Aims, contents and method of the course

Die griechische Nationalideologie entstand in der zweiten Hälfte des 18. Jahrhunderts als Folge der Entwicklung einer griechisch-orthodoxen Kaufmannsbourgeoisie sowie der Verbreitung der modernen griechischen Aufklärung. Ihre Grundzüge kristallisierten sich nach der Französischen Revolution, dem griechischen Unabhängigkeitskrieg (1821-1828) und der Schaffung des griechischen Staates. Während des langen Prozesses der territorialen Expansion des griechischen Staates und der Bevölkerungsbewegungen, die die Entstehung der neuen Balkan-Nationalstaaten bestimmten, hat sich die griechische Ideologie nicht aufgehört zu entwickeln.

In diesem Seminar werden wir die kulturellen, ideologischen, politischen und sozialen Parameter der griechischen nationalen Ideologie durch eine Vielzahl von Texten und Quellen (Essays, Literatur, Poesie, Geschichtsschreibung etc.) diskutieren.

Assessment and permitted materials
