Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Filmfestivals sind Veranstaltungen an der Schnittstelle zwischen Kultur und Politik. Das Seminar befasst sich mit der historischen Filmfestivalforschung und lenkt die Aufmerksamkeit auf südosteuropäische Festivals während des Kalten Krieges (z.B. Thessaloniki, aber auch Pula oder Antalya). Insbesondere diskutieren wir die Festivals als teilweise staatlich gelenkte, teilweise kommerzielle Projekte, die bedeutende Kommunikationsräume für die Filmbranche darstellen und zeitweise politische Grenzen überwinden.

Prüfungsimmanente Lehrveranstaltung, Lektüre in der Gruppe, Referat, schriftliche Arbeit.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Englisch und Deutsch werden vorausgesetzt, Kenntnis einer südosteuropäischen Sprache von Vorteil. Anwesenheitspflicht, regelmäßige Vorbereitung und Diskussionsteilnahme, Lektüre, Kurztexte und Impulsreferate, Referat (30-45 Min.) 50%; schriftliche Arbeit am Ende des Semesters, etwa 6000 Wörter, 50%.
