All these times are technically available, but meetings will not be weekly. Students will need to go to Moodle for course-management and for the actual dates and links to the Zoom-Conferences.

Attendance is required unless you are ill. Since it is an online course, you should be able to attend passively from your sickbed with the camera off, if you feel up to it. Otherwise you should be virtually present with the camera on. If there is some special problem, let me know before class.

Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This is not a regular weekly class with a syllabus and didactic content supplied by the professor. It is a forum or workshop in which students writing M.A.-theses in Classics can present their work and receive feedback from one another and guidance from the teacher. It may have a symbiotic relationship with Professor Shanzer’s post-doc Privatissimum or with her Übung for the Erasmus Blended Intensive [Learning] Program, “Carolingian Literary Lab” in that students in both classes (depending on their research topics and level) will be expected to do a formal presentation of their work at the end of term. Students will be receiving their primary supervision from those directing their MA-Theses.

Assessment and permitted materials

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Active engagement in discussion of one another's work, both written and oral, is required as well as a professional public presentation. There will be weekly tasks and assignments. Content and topics will be driven by student questions and needs. Requirements may be variable since students will be at different levels and stages of research.
