Aims, contents and method of the course
The content of the course is determined by the research interests of the participants. These currently fall largely in Latin Late Antiquity, e.g. Augustine, Paulinus of Périgueux, Jerome, Claudius Marius Victor, and Ammianus Marcellinus.

Examination topics
Every week differs. Participants (Masters candidates and Doctorands) take turns presenting their research and receiving feedback from their colleagues. Relevant scholarship is discussed. Difficult passages translated and commented together. Students are also coached on presenting scholarly work at conferences and are likely to have the opportunity to do so. Students' drafts are edited and commented upon by the instructor.
