Aims, contents and method of the course
Die Vorlesung spannt einen Bogen von den griechisch-orthodoxen Händlern des Osmanischen Reiches und der griechischen Diaspora im 18. Jh., zu der Migration nach Übersee im 19. Jh., der politisch bedingten Flucht nach Osteuropa zur Zeit des Griechischen Bürgerkriegs und den Gastarbeitern in Deutschland im 20. Jh. Fragen der Ethnizität und des Nationalismus werden ebenso angesprochen wie die ökonomischen, politischen und sozialen Folgen der Emigration und Remigration. Außerdem wird die Migration in der (Gastarbeiter und Migrations-)Literatur, Fotografie und im Film thematisiert.
