Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse werden vorausgesetzt. Lesekenntnisse in Griechisch gerne erwünscht, aber keine Voraussetzung.

Im Rahmen dieser Übung werden wir der Frage nach den kulturhistorischen Umständen dieser Begegnungen nachgehen: neben dem Antikengesetz von 1834 und der Geschichte einiger Athener sowie Fallbeispielen europäischer Museen, die griechische Antiquitäten kauften, interessieren uns die Praktiken der Einzelakteur:innen, beziehungsweise was sich über diese in historischem Quellenmaterial herausfinden lässt.Neben der gemeinsamen Lektüre und Diskussion von Sekundärliteratur, in der der Umgang mit Antiquitäten aus unterschiedlichen Perspektiven beleuchtet wird, werden wir auch einen Blick in die Primärquellen werfen, die uns zur Verfügung stehen, um "Begegnungen mit Antiquitäten" aus historischen Zeugnissen aufleben zu lassen.
