Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Philostratos schreibt seine 'Eikones' in der ersten Hälfte des 3. Jahrhunderts n. Chr. und begibt sich dabei auf einen (virtuellen?) Rundgang durch eine Pinakothek in Neapel. Seine im attischen Stil gehaltenen Beschreibungen der Bilder wollen aber nicht nur deren Inhalt wiedergeben, sondern ihn lebendig vor Augen stellen und den Zuhörer in die geschilderte Szene hineinziehen. In der Übung werden wir eine Reihe dieser Bildbeschreibungen, von 'Achills Erziehung' über 'Narkissos' bis hin zum 'Rasenden Herakles' lesen und nachvollziehen. - Der Text wird am Semesteranfang bereitgestellt, in der ersten Sitzung werden wir uns mit dem Proömium und dem ersten Bild ('Skamandros') beschäftigen.
