Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
In den letzten Jahren steigt das Interesse für die Geschichte der Filmfestivals und ihre Funktion in der Kulturdiplomatie und im Kulturtransfer im Allgemeinen. Das Seminar widmet sich zwei regionalen Festivals in vergleichender Perspektive und richtet sich an Studierende mit einem Schwerpunkt in der Neogräzistik, der Südosteuropäischen Geschichte und der Filmgeschichte.
Assessment and permitted materials
Anwesenheit und Teilnahme an der Diskussion aufgrund der vorbereitenden Lektüre (30%), mündliches Referat (30%), schriftliche Arbeit (40%).
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Die Studierenden untersuchen anhand der filmischen Kultur in Griechenland und im ehem. Jugoslawien Grenzen und Möglichkeiten des Konzeptes "Kulturtransfer". Sie lernen die Materialien und Publikationen des jungen Forschungsthemas der Filmfestivalforschung kennen. Durch die Fokussierung auf die Festivalstruktur nehmen sie die südosteuropäische Geschichte der zweiten Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts aus einer anderen Perspektive wahr.
Examination topics
Am Beispiel der vorliegenden Forschungen zu anderen europäischen Festivals soll die Aufmerksamkeit auf Textquellen zu den Festivals von Thessaloniki und Pula gerichtet werden. Filme aus den Festivals werden im historischen Kontext und im Rahmen regionaler und internationaler Kulturdebatten analysiert.
