Es ist immer noch umstritten, ob Senecas Tragödien zur Rezitation oder zur Aufführung bestimmt waren. Die Frage nach der Spielbarkeit wird deshalb – neben der Einführung in Sprache, Stil und Metrik der Tragödien – eine besondere Rolle spielen. Außerdem sollen Übereinstimmungen mit den philosophischen Schriften Senecas herausgearbeitet werden.
