Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

In der Übung werden wichtige sprachliche Besonderheiten des Mittellateins (von etwa 600 bis etwa 1400)- selbstverständlich nicht ohne sachliche Informationen - anhand ausgewählter Texte (Prosa und Dichtung) in gemeinsamer Lektüre herausgearbeitet. Die Kenntnis derartiger lexikalischer, morphologischer, syntaktischer und verstechnischer Grundphänomene einer wichtigen Epoche lateinischer Literaturproduktion soll auch Studierende der Klassischen Latinistik, besonders des Lehramtes für Latein, befähigen, leichtere mittellateinische Texte im Unterricht zu behandeln und dadurch das Wissen zu vermitteln, dass Latein keineswegs nur die Sprache der 'alten Römer' gewesen ist. - In etlichen modernen Schulbüchern sind zwar mittellateinische Leseproben enthalten, die dazugehörende Hilfestellung ist aber leider, wie die Erfahrung zeigt, oft recht mangelhaft und unzuverlässig.
