Aims, contents and method of the course

Historiker, Paläographen, Ornithologen, Botaniker, Medizinhistoriker - sie alle interessieren sich aus je unterschiedlichen Gründen für den sog. "Wiener Dioskurides", eine der prominentesten illuminierten Prachthandschriften der griechischen Spätantike. Die LV beleuchtet die wechselvolle Geschichte des Codex von seiner Entstehung bis heute und lässt von verschiedenen Blickwinkeln aus den einzigartigen Reiz der Handschrift sichtbar werden, die seit dem Jahr 1997 zum UNESCO Weltdokumentenerbe zählt
