Aims, contents and method of the course

Die Zwischenkriegszeit in Griechenland wird von den beiden tiefsten Cäsuren seit Bestehen des griechischen Staates eingegrenzt, die bis heute im historischen Gedächtnis als nationale Katastrophen verankert sind: Am Beginn der gescheiterte Kleinasienfeldzug von 1922, dem Vertreibung und Flüchtlingselend folgten, am Ende der 2. Weltkrieg mit Besatzungszeit und anschließendem Bürgerkrieg. In vieler Hinsicht bilden die Jahre von 1923 bis 1940 für Griechenland eine Epoche der Extreme, die von gesellschaftlicher Polarisierung und politischer Instabilität geprägt war.
