Aims, contents and method of the course

Know the society and current affairs of the Latin American countries.
The course has 4 blocks.
History of societies. formation of the current countries.
Society: demography and population. Culture.
Geography an Landscape.
Economy of Latin America.
Presentation of the teacher, group discussion in class, student presentations

Assessment and permitted materials

Continuous assessment.
First writting paper - 20 points.
End writting paper - 50 points.
Final writen exam - 30 points.
It is tolerated to miss class for a maximum of two days

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Completion of the StEOP and the VO of the module Landeswissenschaft.
Distribution of the final grade:
90-100=1 / 81-89=2 / 71-80=3 / 60-70=4 / 0-59=5
Writting papers: In order to ensure good scientific practice, the course organizers can invite students to a note-relevant discussion after handing in the term paper, which has to be completed positively.
