Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The course tackles the question, how the longterm Franco Regime is reflected in narrations. Different perspectives on post-war Spain shall help to trace tensions and antagonisms that continue shaping the country. To this aim not only texts from different decades, but also the genderedness of the narrated experiences will be analized. Different voices of vencidos and vencedores, and of people in inner and outer exile, will be examined for the interplay of literary strategies, "truth claims" and their collective identificatory potential.
