The role of the camera

2. „Literature and Film. Adaptations”

Understanding the theories of cinematic 'Adaptation';
Distinguishing between discourses (literature/film);
Using specific analytical tools.

Books and films proposed for analysis:
1. The novel, ”Padurea spânzuraților” (L. Rebreanu, 1922) and the film „Padurea spanzuratilor” L. Ciulei, 1965);
2. The «journalistic» novel ”Spovedanie la Tanacu” (Tatiana Niculescu Bran, 2006) vs. the film ”Beyond the Hills” (C. Mungiu, 2012);
3. The novella "Domisoara Christina" (Mircea Eliade, 1936) vs. the film of Alexandru Maftei, 2013;
4. The novel "Sunt o baba comunista" (Dan Lungu, 2007) vs. the film of Stere Gulea, 2013.
