Aims, contents and method of the course

Nach einer Einführung und Präsentation von filmanalytischen Methoden (nach Bordwell/Thompson) mit zahlreichen Filmbeispielen konzentrieren wir uns auf den Film "Il posto" (1961) von Ermanno Olmi, den wir sowohl auf Makro- also auch auf Mikroebene analysieren werden.

Assessment and permitted materials

Anwesenheitspflicht, Diskussionsbeiträge, Einzel- und Gruppenarbeiten, Referate, kleinere schriftliche Beiträge und Erstellung von Filmprotokollen, Abschlussarbeit.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Verständnis für filmanalytische Methoden und deren praktische Anwendung. Fähigkeit, einen Film (schriftlich) zu analysieren und protokollieren sowie in seinem historischen und kulturellen Kontext zu verorten.

Examination topics

Anleitung zum Erstellen von Filmprotokollen und Besprechen filmanalytischer Methoden. Einzel- und Gruppenübungen, Referate, Abschlussarbeit. Erwartet wird das selbstständige Sichten von Filmen und die Erstellung von Filmprotokollen in Gruppenarbeit.
