Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Goals: The objective of the course is to face the problem of the exploitation of the natural resources of Latin America with the environmental and social problems that this entails. Know and analyze the environmental and social exploitation and economic benefits of the primary and secondary sector.
Likewise, the course will have an ethical component that will assess the well-being of the person and their economic progress with the damage that this may produce to nature.
It will work both at the continental level, and at the national and regional level.

The method of work will be at the beginning of the lecture for later to the academic discussion and the presentation of works and results of the studies of the participants.

Assessment and permitted materials

Continuous assessment.
Two short written work and/or presentation in class. (20+20 points)
Final written work (40 pages minimum) (60 points)
It is tolerated to miss class for a maximum of two days.

For a positive assessment of the course 60 points are required.
1 = 90 – 100 points
2 = 81 – 89 points
3 = 71 – 80 points
4 = 60 – 70 points
5 = 0 – 59 points (suspense)
The lack of Spanish grammar will not be taken into account in the note.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Requirements: See the curriculum of the institute of Romance languages.

Term paper: In order to ensure good scientific practice, the course organizers can invite students to a note-relevant discussion after handing in the term paper, which has to be completed positively.

For the works to be scored positively they must be delivered on the dates announced in class and in moodle.

Examination topics

The topics and contents of the course will be in detail in Moodle and will be explained on the first day of class.
