Aims, contents and method of the course

Goals: The objective of the course is to face the problem of the exploitation of the natural resources of Latin America with the environmental and social problems that this entails
Content: social and environmental news of latin america. Economic development and social-environmental degradation.
Work method: Academic discussion and presentation of papers and results of the participants' studies.

Assessment and permitted materials

Continuous assessment.
One short written or oral work, an the final written work. (30+70 points)
Final written work (40 pages minimum) (70 points)
To pass the course, it is mandatory to submit both written assignments.
60 points are required to pass (positiv) the course.
= 90 – 100 puntos
2 = 81 – 89 puntos
3 = 71 – 80 puntos
4 = 60 – 70 puntos
5 = 0 – 59 puntos
The failures of Spanish grammar will not be taken into account in the note.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Requirements: See the curriculum of the institute of Romance languages.
Term paper: In order to ensure good scientific practice, the course organizers can invite students to a note-relevant discussion after handing in the term paper, which has to be completed positively.

For the works to be scored positively they must be delivered on the dates announced in class and in moodle.

Examination topics

The topics and contents of the course will be in detail in Moodle and will be explained on the first day of class.
