Aims, contents and method of the course

This course deals with music as an element of culture and the formation of a society's identity. First, the evolution and importance of music in Spanish and Latin American society will be discussed chronologically, before focusing on the 20th and 21st centuries.
The aim of the course is to develop aspects that highlight the importance of music as a factor of culture and identity.
The working method includes lectures, group discussions and the presentation of the results obtained by the participants.

Assessment and permitted materials

Continuous assessment.
2 written papers (20 + 70 points) + oral presentation (10 points).

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Completion of the StEOP and the VO of the module Landeswissenschaft.
Distribution of the final grade:
90-100=1 / 81-89=2 / 71-80=3 / 60-70=4 / 0-59=5
Lack of Spanish grammar will not be taken into account in the mark, as long as they do not hinder the understanding of the text.
Writting papers: In order to ensure good scientific practice, the course organizers can invite students to a note-relevant discussion after handing in the term paper, which has to be completed positively.
End writting paper = There will be a maximum delivery date that is mandatory to respect.
