Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This course deals with music as an element of culture and identity formation of a society. First, it will deal chronologically with the evolution and importance of the stages of Spanish History and Society, highlighting in each stage the types and values of music in society, as well as its artists. The course will focus mainly on the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries.
The objective of the course is to develop aspects that highlight the importance of music as a factor of culture and identity.
The working method includes lectures, group discussion and presentation of the results obtained by the participants.

Assessment and permitted materials

Continuous assessment.
2 written papers (20 + 70 points) + oral presentation (10 points).

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Completion of the StEOP and the VO of the module Landeswissenschaft.
Distribution of the final grade:
90-100=1 / 81-89=2 / 71-80=3 / 60-70=4 / 0-59=5
Lack of Spanish grammar will not be taken into account in the mark, as long as they do not hinder the understanding of the text.
Writting papers: In order to ensure good scientific practice, the course organizers can invite students to a note-relevant discussion after handing in the term paper, which has to be completed positively.
End writting paper = There will be a maximum delivery date that is mandatory to respect.

The topics and contents of the course will be in detail in Moodle and will be explained on the first day of class.
