The 12 units of the course represent a chronological overview over the most important developments of literary theory and poetics in hispanic countries, starting with the poetics of Aristoteles and Horaz, the new poetic definitions in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance classicist poetics of the 18th century and the Manifestos of literary groups in the 19th century and the avant-garde movements, ending with poetological texts of modern and recent Latin Amercan literature
