Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The objective of this hands-on course is to enable students to capitalize on Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs) in the context of ELT. Students will learn how to design coherent online teaching sequences in Moodle as well as through incorporating other Web 2.0 edu-apps. Students will develop individual Moodle courses which can be re-used and developed further in their future professional contexts.

- Developing Writing Skills with Moodle
- Developing Reading Skills with Moodle
- Developing Speaking Skills with Moodle
- Developing Listening Skills with Moodle
- Developing and Practicing Vocabulary with Moodle
- Developing and Practicing Grammar with Moodle
- Using Edu-Apps
- Alternatives to Moodle

Assessment and permitted materials

Continuous assessment: students will have to complete various online activities in the accompanying Moodle course as well as work in their individual courses. Further details will be announced in class and on Moodle.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

It is highly recommended that participants have completed the courses "ELT Foundations 1" and "ELT Foundations 2" before signing up for this class. They will need the knowledge and skills acquired in these courses in order to plan activities on Moodle effectively. As to IT skills, basic knowledge is expected.
