Aims, contents and method of the course

This course introduces students to a selection of basic issues of literary studies, such as textual analysis and literary interpretation, literary theory and literary history. It acquaints students with literary terminology and its practical application and provices a survey of the major literary genres and their specific features.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

This course aims at helping students to become competent readers. By providing them with a critical toolkit this course enables participants to understand and use basic concepts of literary criticism.
