Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This course will
- provide an introduction to basic questions of literary studies, such as text analysis, interpretation and literary theory,
- make students familiar with the terminology and methodology of literary analysis,
- give a survey of the major literary genres and different methodological challenges relating to them.
The course aims at providing students with a critical toolkit enabling them to understand - and apply - the basic concepts of literary criticism and to approach and analyse literary texts autonomously.

Assessment and permitted materials

Written final test (90 minutes, in person)

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

familiarity with the theoretical and methodological concepts and issues covered in class and with the set readings; ability to apply the theoretical knowledge aquired in the course of the semester to the readings
