Aims, contents and method of the course

This course will
- provide an introduction to basic questions of literary studies, such as text analysis, interpretation and literary theory,
- make students familiar with the terminology and praxis of literary criticism,
- give a survey of the major literary genres and the special problems relating to them.

Written final test (90 minutes)

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The course aims at providing students with a critical toolkit enabling them to understand - and apply - the basic concepts of literary theory and to approach and analyse literary texts autonomously.
