Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
These weekly workshops provide an open forum to discuss basic or particularly pressing problems with writing your Diploma Thesis (alter Studienplan). Its aim is to offer on-the-spot support for students currently writing their thesis in all matters related to the actual writing, including but not limited to: text structure, academic style, discussing and quoting sources, presenting your own research (methods, data and findings), finding your own voice and arguing your point. You are invited to bring your own text for discussion, feedback and practical advice; you can come with a specific question or simply attend to exchange ideas and learn more about how other students cope with the challenges of writing a thesis.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
To offer on-the-spot support for students currently writing their thesis, including but not limited to: text structure, academic style, discussing and quoting sources, presenting your own research (methods, data and findings), finding your own voice and arguing your point.
Examination topics
While the sessions are always open to your problems, each workshop is also themed, an initial primer focusing on a specific aspect of thesis writing. If do not have a specific problem or cannot quite put your finger on it, but feel insecure (e.g. discussing state-of-the-art research in your thesis), you should attend the correspondingly themed session. The themes and their dates will be announced in the first session on March 13th. Please register in davance or attend the first session to allow better planning of the semester (registration does not mean you have to attend every session).
