Learning outcomes
By the end of this course, students will be able
To recognize and name key features in literature
To understand what effects these features produce
To apply these features in their own creative writing
To establish a link between creative writing and language learning

Assessment and permitted materials

Assessment is based on a portfolio of sample texts and class performance.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The objective of this course is to enable students to teach writing skills by (1) focusing on standards-based text types, their characteristics and criteria of assessment and by (2) experimenting with creative writing techniques as a means to explore English in an interesting and motivating way that goes beyond traditional classroom activities.
