Aims, contents and method of the course
Applied Research Seminar: Short Fiction and short Novels in the EFL ClassroomThis course focuses on a selection of texts which tend to be considered all-time classics in the context of the EFL classroom: faerie tales, nursery rhymes, fables, coming-of-age fiction, young adult fiction, initiation stories, (imperialist) adventure stories, social and political satire, dystopian fiction etc.Students will apply their research skills in our discussions, give a presentation (in teams of 2), and write an essay (ca. 800 words). One focus of the essay will be how these and related texts may be included in EFL classroom, esp. the field of secondary education.
