Aims, contents and method of the course

CLIL teaching methodology, CLIL aims and goals; underlying concepts, language functions in the classroom, national and international CLIL policies , CLIL in the Austrian school system; designing, evaluating & assessing materials, analysing curricula, classroom observation; making lesson plans based on textbooks, web-based materials, films, exhibitions, excursions etc.
Examples will mainly focus on social science subjects but students will be encouraged to transfer knowledge to natural science and other subjects.

Evaluation of peer teaching, assignments, portfolio

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The aim of the course is for students to identify the links between their expertises as subject teacher and language teacher. to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to plan CLIL teaching sequences and to develop criteria for successful CLIL teaching.
