a) theoretical and methodological issues, e.g. the scope of pragmatics with
relation to semantics vs. psycho-, socio- and ethno-linguistics;
pragmatics as a language level vs. a perspective on language; data
collection techniques in socio-pragmatics (sociolinguistic interview, field
work, etc.).
b) micropragmatic notions as compared to their semantic equivalents:
presupposition, deixis, implicature, speech acts;
c) macro-pragmatic notions: social pragmatics, cross-cultural pragmatics
vs. intercultural studies, etc.
d) detailed problems: the structure of conversation, pragmatic failure,
pragmatic particles, politeness and the notion of face, etc.
