Aims, contents and method of the course

Comprehensive introduction to the genre of short story; close readings of classical texts with an emphasis on typical forms and developments.

Assessment and permitted materials

class participation, oral presentation, essay (10-12 pages) or final written test.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Students become acquainted with the genre of short story. They know about the historical developments of the short story form.

Examination topics

Oral presentations on selected stories and topics, with subsequent discussion in class.

Reading list

A reader with short stories will be available at the end of January in the main office.
