120103 UE Mediation and Genre Analysis for English Teachers (MAGNET) - UF MA EN 01 (2022W)

Attendance (max. 2 absences) The grade is made up as follows: 1. Individual written abstract: 20% 2. Individual written assignment: 35% A genre analysis critiquing and comparing at least two texts of the same text type (of your choice) from one of the three modules. Include citations from at least three outside sources. 1,000-1,500 words. 3. Team project: 45% Genre analysis comparing two genres (two texts from each genre), including reference to at least three outside sources to frame the analysis. The analysis is followed by a mediation task in which the team adapts content from one genre to produce a new text for a new audience or to fulfil a new purpose. Entire project presented to the class in an academic style conference 10% Project proposal 25% Analysis and mediation project 10% Academic presentation All parts must be completed and two out of the three graded parts must be positive. The pass grade is 60%. Grading scale: 1 (Sehr gut) 100-90% 2 (Gut) 89-80% 3 (Befriedigend) 79-70% 4 (Genügend) 69-60% 5 (Nicht genügend) 59-0% Your work may be subjected to the plagiarism detection software Turnitin.
