· physical elements eg. centering techniques, gesture, poise, personal space
· verbal elements eg useful phrases, strategies to increase impact, giving and receiving feedback, structuring content, narrowing down the topic, formulating a take-home message
· audience elements eg. understanding your audience, building rapport with individuals and groups, adapting to situation, formulating audience outcomesThe focus will be on learning by doing and developing personal presence. You will have the opportunity to practise a wide range of speaking activities.Assessment: Class participation; a formal oral presentation given in class; a written analysis of your formal presentation; a folder to be handed in at the end of the semester.
