Aims, contents and method of the course
In this workshop we will explore a non-standard dramatic form, that of the one-act play. The focus will be on the aesthetics of this type of play, the analysis of several such works for the stage and an attempt to trace a development of the form. We will discuss a great variety of texts, comic, serious, realistic, absurd, postmodern, political.
Assessment and permitted materials
Regular attendance, oral presentation, active participation in discussions in class, final essay.
