Aims, contents and method of the course
This is an interactive course with the aim of introducing new interdisciplinary research (biological, linguistic, psychological) on highly gifted language learners, so-called "hyperpolyglots". The course is suited for students interested into research of second language acquisition in outstanding circumstances, language teaching, language aptitude (talent), multilingualism and theoretical concepts in SLA /linguistics. A further aim of this course is to sensitize participants towards the importance of individual differences in language aptitude for the teaching of foreign languages and the implications this strand of research has for language teaching and language education. The course should be highly interactive and creative with students elaborating own topics and reporting/discussing them in class.

speech/presentation, group work, discussion, written summaries of speech (speech memo) and development of own final course booklet / portfolio
