Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The nature of lexical knowledge, its characteristics and organization, as well as the way it is stored and recalled, form an important part of ongoing research in the areas of cognitive linguistics, SLA and foreign language teaching. In this course, we will explore and discuss selected insights gained in these fields. Topics will thus include research into the development of the (second language) mental lexicon, specific issues related to the memorization, storage and recall of vocabulary, as well the application of vocabulary learning theories in language teaching.
