Aims, contents and method of the course

This course introduces students to a selection of basic issues in literary studies. It acquaints students with literary terminology and its practical application and provides a survey of the major literary genres and their specific features.

Written exam (multiple choice)

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

This lecture course aims at helping students become competent readers. By providing a critical toolkit the course is designed to enable participants to understand and apply some of the basic concepts of literary criticism.

Lecture (in English), power point presentations (9), course book, course text (primary lit.), reader.
