Aims, contents and method of the course
This course introduces students to a selection of basic issues in literary studies. It acquaints students with literary terminology and its practical application and provides a survey of the major literary genres and their specific features.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
This lecture course aims at helping students become competent readers. By providing them with a critical toolkit the course is designed to enable participants to understand and apply some of the basic concepts of literary criticism.
