Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This lecture will give an overview of the development of the British novel in the second half of the 19th Century. The focus will be on canonized writers and the different forms and functions of the novel which develop in the course of the Victorian period.

Assessment and permitted materials

Final written test.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The students will be able to differentiate between realist, naturalist and aestheticist ways of writing.

Examination topics

Lecture, power point presentation, e-learning platform.
