Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
In this seminar, we will read and discuss a range of novels featuring narrators who are not or no longer among the living. We will investigate how these texts approach universal themes of death, loss and mourning, but will also look at more unconventional aspects of these works on the levels of both form and content. In addition, we will investigate the narrative strategies through which emotional responses are elicited in the readers.
Assessment and permitted materials
active participation in discussions (20%), presentations (20%), seminar paper (50%), final written exam (10%)
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
