Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
This class aims at providing both a theoretical basis for the teaching of literature in the EFL classroom and practical examples. The primary aim is to enable students to devise lessons, handouts and teaching activities which help improve their future learners' skills and capture their interest.
Assessment and permitted materials
Assessment will be based on a course portfolio (which is due in the final session) and participation in class.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Participation is mandatory, 2 absences will be accepted
Portfolio activities assessment based on whether activities and arguments are pedagogically convincing and how ideas from the course are implemented in actual tasks; reading assignments; participation in class; practical teaching experience & reflection; class readers

practical implementation of and reflection on working with literature and culture in the EFL classroom; special focus on YA novels, song lyrics/poetry, film/TV...
Reading list
weekly reading assignments will be provided + class reader "Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe" (Sáenz) + a YA novel (student's choice)
