Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This course aims at providing students with a sufficient background knowledge of CLIL, its underlying principles and methodology. Various CLIL models and CLIL policies around Europe will be introduced and discussed. Furthermore, the course will focus on analysing web-based and traditional CLIL resources and materials. The practical planning of CLIL lessons and the development of own materials for the teaching of specific content within a CLIL approach will also be part of this course.

Assessment and permitted materials

Regular attendance; participation in class discussions based on reading assignments; individual and group assignments; short presentations; final tasks.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Participants in this course will acquire a sufficient understanding of the main aspects of CLIL. They will develop an ability to analyse and adapt CLIL resources and materials, as well as planning their own lessons and designing CLIL materials.

Examination topics

Reading, discussions, lecture-sequences, e-learning-inputs, hands-on tasks.
