The content of this course will focus on CLIL models, national and international CLIL policies, CLIL in the Austrian school system, analyzing national curricula, classroom observations, planning a lesson and teaching it to peers, tha analysis of material, web-based materials and secondary literature. The practical examples will cover a wide range of subjects taught in Austria.

Aims, contents and method of the course
The content of this course will focus on CLIL models, national and international CLIL policies, CLIL in the Austrian school system, analyzing national curricula, classroom observations, planning a lesson and teaching it to peers, tha analysis of material, web-based materials and secondary literature. The practical examples will cover a wide range of subjects taught in Austria.
Assessment and permitted materials
Participants will be evaluated based on participation in class, regular attendance, peer teaching sequences, the presentation of a lesson observation, knowledge of the reading assignments as well as a course portfolio.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
There are two main aims of this course.
First of all, students will acquire a basic understanding of the core concepts of CLIL and its advantages and challenges, based on a conceptual framework which allow them to take a professional approach towards planning and teaching CLIL sequences.
Secondly, participants learn practical skills which enable them to develop criteria for successful CLIL teaching which are then put into practice.

Examination topics
The course will incorporate several methods like discussions, group work, oral presentations, peer teaching, cooperative and open learning, short lecture-sequences and e-learning.
