Aims, contents and method of the course
In this course we will analyse a wide range of poems, plays, novels and short stories that have shaped English literary history. After revising the basic parameters of literary theory, genre analysis and literary history, we will explore and analyse the texts on the reading list from various angles.
Assessment and permitted materials
Regular attendance and participation in classroom discussions; oral presentation; small assignments and revisions;
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Revision of the basic parameters of literary theory, genre analysis and literary history. Being able to analyse and interpret seminal works of English literary history in an informed and scholarly way.
