Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Students will gain the knowledge of the representative contemporary Anglophone/postcolonial literary authors primarily from the Caribbean, the Indian subcontinent, Africa and modern multi-ethnic Britain. They will analyze and interpret the selected literary texts by applying the postcolonial critical approach that will be studied at the beginning of the course.
Assessment and permitted materials
Regular attendance, participation in classroom discussions; oral presentation; portfolio consisting of two written assignments.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
50 points two portfolio assignments/papers
30 points oral presentation of the selected topic
20 class participation and discussions
Students have to fulfill all course requirements (each with at least 50%) and to score at least 60 points altogether to pass this course.
